Ms. Coleen Dorazio is the Founder and Chairman of Dorazio Learning Center (DLC). Ms. Dorazio believes that school is a learning center where children, regardless of ability or resources, are afforded the opportunity to academically and socially develop a foundation that will serve them for the rest of their lives. She believes that to accomplish this, a school wide culture of care, respect, and acceptance must be created and maintained. Ms. Dorazio knows that education is a platform where students begin to experience personal success.
Ms. Dorazio worked as a Resource Specialist in Capistrano Unified School District for seven years. During her time at the district, she was the Special Education Lead Teacher (2001-2005), a member of the Leadership Team (2001-2005), Member of the Student Study Team (2000-2004), Union Building Representative (2002-2005), a member of the Capistrano Unified School District Reading Committee for Special Education Students, and was named Teacher of the Year for the 2003-2004 school year.
Ms. Dorazio has accumulated over 250 hours attending Professional Development Academies, workshops, and seminars. She has completed 80 hours of Professional Development through the Orange County Department of Education to become GLAD certified (Guided Language Acquisition and Development). She also earned a Reading Instruction Certificate (RIC) from Capistrano Unified School District.
Ms. Dorazio has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California, Irvine. She earned a Multiple Subjects Credential, CLAD emphasis, a Mild/Moderate Specialist Credential, and a Masters of Arts in Special Education from Chapman University in Orange, California. |

Mrs. Stacey Whitaker is the First Grade Teacher at Dorazio Learning Center (DLC)
Mrs. Whitaker is in her fifth year of teaching Primary Education and adheres to the educational philosophy that all students deserve the opportunity to learn, grow and feel success within a general education environment. Mrs. Whitaker has taught two years of General Education for Hacienda La Puente Unified School District (2002-2005), one year in Special Education as a Kindergarten SDC Teacher for Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) (2005-2006) and one year as a General Education Kindergarten Teacher for CUSD (2006-2007). During this time, Mrs. Whitaker has had the pleasure to teach within a diverse community where students of a variety of needs and abilities have achieved personal success in their education.
While at Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, Mrs. Whitaker served on the School Site Council approving school expenditures (2003-2004), served as Lead Reading Coach for Primary grades K-2 (2003-2004) as well as taught after school Reading and Math Intervention (2003-2005). Mrs. Whitaker is trained in the Reading First program (2005) and has accumulated 50 hours of Professional Development through Capistrano Unified School District.
In preparation for a successful teaching career, Mrs. Whitaker has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Sonoma State University, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD certification, Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential and a Masters of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.
